About the Role
Our client, a renowned name in women's fashion and footwear, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their dynamic team. Operating both online and within well-known department stores, this company has experienced significant growth and is looking for an experienced professional to help manage their financial operations.
Role Overview:
The Financial Controller will report directly to the Finance Director and oversee a finance team of individuals. The ideal candidate will have experience in both online and in-store environments within a product-oriented industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Prepare detailed management accounts and board report schedules to guide strategic decisions.
- Strategic Planning: Manage the forecasting and budgeting process to support the company's growth objectives.
- Revenue Management: Oversee revenue recognition and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Investor Relations: Handle PE and investor reporting, showcasing the company's financial health to stakeholders.
- Cash Flow Optimisation: Conduct weekly working capital reporting, managing cash, accrued revenue, and debtors effectively.
- Comprehensive Oversight: Manage payroll, pensions, taxes (PAYE, VAT, CT), banking, and treasury operations.
- Compliance and Audit: Prepare statutory accounts and lead the audit process, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
- Team Development: Mentor and manage a talented finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally in a product-oriented industry.
- Fully qualified (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) with strong technical knowledge.
- Experience with investor reporting is a plus.
- Exceptional Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
